On April 8th and 9th, Hoover Automotive held the annual BBQ for Baseball in Summerville on their car lot property. This event benefits the Summerville Miracle League, one of our favorite local charities that provides opportunities for individuals with disabilities to play Miracle League baseball, regardless of their abilities. This is such a worthy cause, and their stance is that “everyone deserves the chance to play baseball” for the joy and benefits that come from participating in our national pastime!

The event featured a chicken wing competition, and everything-but-pork competition, musical entertainment, and silent and live auctions. All proceeds benefited the Summerville Miracle Leauge. We had a great turnout and it was truly a blast!

Hoover Automotive Group donated and installed a new hitch to the Summerville Presbyterian Church’s youth bus. Youth Director, Kari Morgan reports recent growth in their programming, and they needed to have the ability to pull a small trailer for luggage and equipment on their trips. This also allowed for more seating for youth participants. While having the hitch installed, Hoover also gave the bus a mini-makeover, by detailing it and making it fresh and clean.

The first trip for the new and improved bus was June 19-26th for Music Week at Montreat. Children, young adults, and adults were able to enjoy music and worship in the mountains! We are happy to have been able to make this and future road trips more enjoyable for the young Summerville Presbyterian congregants!
